Swan's Island: Mrs. Myra H. Bridges, 91, died Feb. 5, 1979, at a Rockland nursing home. She was the widow of Frank Bridges. She was born at Swan's Island Feb. 6, 1887, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Smith) Herrick. She belonged to the DAR and was a member of Swan's Island Methodist Church. For many years she worked for the Seacoast Mission at Swan's Island. She is survived by a nephew, Roy Joyce and three nieces, Margaret Staples, Gladys Joyce, and Alice Burns all of Swan's Island; a half sister, Laura Jane Tenney of Sedgwick; several cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Swan's Island Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley Haskell officiating. Burial will be at Grindle Hill Cemetery. Those who wish may make contributions to the Swan's Island Methodist Church. Arrangements by Fernald Funeral Chapel , Mount Desert. She was buried on 8 February 1979 in Grindle Hill cemetery, Swan's Island. No children.

Swan's Island; Frank E. Bridges, 85, of Swan's Island and Rockland, died Sunday at a Rockland hospital after a long illness. He was a retired lobster dealer.
He was born at Swan's Island, Nov. 13, 1880, son of Edmund and Ellen (Gott) Bridges.
He was a member of Aurora Lodge of Masons of Rockland.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Myra (Herrick) Bridges; one sister Mrs. Mildred Staples of Newcastle; and several nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Burpee Funeral Home, Rockland, with the Rev. William J. Robbins officiating.
Commital services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Grindle Hill Cemetery, Swan's Island. He was buried in Grindle Hill cemetery, Swan's Island.
