Descendants of Swan's Island's John Finney

This summary has been derived from information in Dr. H. W. Small's 'History of Swan's Island' published in 1898.
John Finney, a British military deserter, came to Swan's Island in 1803 settling on the land formerly vacated by William Davis.. His wife was the daughter of Moses Staples, Sr. Mr. Finney moved to Somesville after the death of his wife and later his daughter-in-law. He died there in 1844.
