St. Albans - Hulda B. Chandler, 91, a resident of Fern Hill in Burlington for 25 years, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans following an illness of about 6 months. She was born in Swan's Island, Maine January 19, 1916, the daughter of the late Raphia and Elizabeth (Stinson) Smith. After living in Fern Hill, she resided in the St. Albans area for eighteen months.
Hulda is survived by her husband of 71 years, Coleman R. Chandler of Fairfield, her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Phillip Shattuck of Richmond, a sister, Ruth Orcutt of Swan's Island, Maine, six grandchildren and their spouses; Bob and Menchie Mattsen, Stephanie and Ali Kamal, Dan and Becky Mattsen, Sarah and Mike Miller, Jennifer Brown and Eric Van Dusen, eight great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter. She also leaves a son-in-law, John S. Brown and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joanne C. Brown and Martha Chandler.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of Hulda's family. The Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans is assisting with arrangements. Hulda was buried on 3 September 2007 in Rose Hill cemetery, Atlantic.

Fairfield, Vermont - Coleman Roland Chandler, 95, passed away unexpectedly, peacefully in his sleep, after a day working in his garden. Born on July 2, 1912, in Addison, Maine, he was the son of the late, Roscoe and Mary (Manion) Chandler. Coleman was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-one years, Hilda B. Smith, on August 25, 2007.
Coleman was a member of the Franklin County Senior Center in St. Albans.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Phillip Shattuck of Richmond, Vermont; six grandchildren and their spouses; Bob and Menchie Mattsen, Stephanie and Ali Kamal, Dan Mattsen, Sarah and Mike Miller, Jennifer Brown and Eric Van Dusen, nine great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter. He also leaves two brothers, Bernard Chandler and James Chandler and his wife, Helen all of Maine, a sister, Josephine Kelley of Connecticut, a son-in-law, John S.
