6. Samuel Staples was born on 11 April 1710 in Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA. Possibly born in York, Maine. He served in the military in French & Indian War. He died before October 1770 at the age of 60. Impressed on English man-of-war during American revolutionary war. Never heard from again. Lost (1812) from Kittery, Maine Mercy "Granny" Caine and Samuel Staples were married in 1745 in Kittery, York County, Maine, USA.

7. Mercy "Granny" Caine was born on 14 October 1719 in York, York County, Maine, USA. She died in 1826 at the age of 107 in Deer Isle, Hancock County, Maine, USA.

Patience Staples was born on 9 July 1748 in York, York County, Maine, USA.

Joshua Staples was born in 1752 in Phillipstown (Now Sanford), Maine, USA. He was baptized on 8 October 1755 in Wells, York County, Maine, USA. He served in the military between 1777 and 1783 in Revolutionary War. Discharge dated June 13, 1783 signed by George Washington and indicated 6 years of service. Received 'Badge of Merit'. Joshua died before 15 May 1806 at the age of 54 in Deer Isle, Hancock County, Maine, USA. Lived at Phillipstown & Deer Isle.

Moses Staples I was born on 29 September 1753 in Deer Isle, Hancock County, Maine, USA. He was a Ship's Carpenter. He died on 19 August 1846 at the age of 92 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. Moses was buried in Rose Hill cemetery, Atlantic. Came to Deer Isle with parents in 1764. Moved to Swan's Island in 1793 and was the second permanant settler. Lived on York Island near Isle au Haut in 1785. Built Boats at the location that became Henry D. Joyce's shop, and later was the Swan's Island Ferry landing. Also was at Philipstown, Maine.

Olive Staples was born in 1755 in Kittery, York County, Maine, USA. She died in 1820 at the age of 65 in Blue Hill, Hancock County, Maine, USA.
