OCEANVILLE - Norene "Sis" Gail (Greenlaw) Joyce, 49, died April 26, 2002, at Blue Hill Hospital, after a courageous four year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born July 26, 1952, in Castine, the daughter of Harold and Mary (Gray) Greenlaw of Stonington. She graduated from Stonington High School in 1970 and the University of Maine at Orono in 1974, with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. "Teacher Norene" enjoyed teaching island preschool children for 12 years at the Sunshine Activity Center. She looked forward to her lunch dates with the "girls" at Lily's Caf‚ and was an avid gardener and Red Sox fan. In addition to her beloved father, Harold; and her mother and good friend, Mary; Norene is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Clayton Joyce of Oceanville; and her precious son, Jeff Joyce of Oceanville and Middleton, R.I.; three brothers, Howard, Allison and Gary; her mother-in-law, Edrie (Joyce) Ciomei; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She will be fondly remembered by many dear friends and students. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Stonington, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, with Elders Mike Shepard and Edwin Faulkingham officiating. Private interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Oceanville. Norene Gail "Sis" Greenlaw and Clayton Joyce were married about 1974. Clayton Joyce, son of Ciomei and Edrie Wynette Joyce, was born on 24 October 1953. He was buried in Greenwood cemetery, Oceanville, Maine.
